1. Introduction
Welcome to FNQ Car Rental Pty Ltd. By renting a vehicle from us, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before making a reservation.
2. Rental Agreement
Upon making a reservation, you enter into a rental agreement with us. This agreement will outline your rights and responsibilities as well as our obligations. You must provide accurate information when booking and ensure that you meet all rental requirements.
3. Rental Requirements
- You must be at least 21 years old to rent a vehicle. Drivers under 25 may incur an additional fee.
- You must hold a valid Open driver’s license and a credit card in your name.
- International renters may need an International Driving Permit (IDP).
4. Vehicle Use
- Vehicles must only be used for lawful purposes and within the limits of the law.No Uber Eats/X until or unless written approval from FNQ Car Rental Pty Ltd.
- Smoking is prohibited in all rental vehicles.
- Pets are not allowed unless specified in your rental agreement.
- You must return the vehicle in the same condition as received, excluding normal wear and tear.
5. Insurance and Liability
We offer various insurance options to cover damage or theft. You are responsible for any damage, loss, or theft of the vehicle not covered by our insurance. It is highly recommended to purchase our Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection. You may also check if your personal insurance or credit card offers coverage.Excess is $4000.
6. Fuel Policy
Our vehicles are provided with a full tank of fuel. You must return the vehicle with a full tank to avoid fuel charges. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, we will charge you for the missing fuel plus a refueling fee.
7. Additional Charges
- Late return fees will apply if you return the vehicle later than the agreed time.
- Additional driver fees will apply if more than one person will be driving the vehicle.
- Charges for additional equipment (e.g., GPS units, child seats) will be billed separately.
- Paid via your ainternational Credit/Debit card. A processing free of $10 will be deducted from your deposit upon refund.
- No off-road use of our vehicles
8. Cancellation and Modifications
Reservations can be modified or canceled according to our policy. Please refer to our website or contact us for specific details. Cancellation fees may apply based on the timing of the cancellation and the terms of your booking.
9. Liability for Loss or Damage
You are liable for any loss or damage to the vehicle caused by your negligence or breach of these terms. This includes damage caused by unauthorized drivers or use of the vehicle outside the agreed terms.
10. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from this agreement will be handled in accordance with Australian law. Please contact us first to resolve any issues. If a resolution cannot be reached, legal proceedings may be initiated in the jurisdiction where our office is located.
11. Changes to Terms and Conditions
We may update these terms and conditions from time to time. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review these terms periodically to stay informed about any changes.
12. Local Renter Policy
First-time Customers of FNQ Car Rental Pty Ltd living within a 150 kilometre radius of the branch from which they are collecting the vehicle must provide a utility bill* not older than three months as proof of address. The residential address shown on the utility bill must match the address listed on the Customer’s driver licence. A Holding Deposit of $150 is also required to secure the booking and a pre-authorisation will be processed on the Customer’s nominated debit or credit card.A traffic or parking offence made by customer ofvFNQ Car Rental is the responsibility of the customer to pay the fines. *A hard copy or digital version of the following utility bills are accepted forms of identification: electricity, gas, rates, water, phone and internet bills. Please note: previous Customers of FNQ Car Rental are not required to provide a utility bill as proof of address.
13. Car Towing Cost
If anything went wrong with the car and it is within 100 KM we will pay the towing cost. However, if it is over the 100 KM renter will be responsible to pay Towing cost.
14. What happens if I get a traffic infringement?
Traffic infringements may be issued for a number of driving and/or parking offenses in Australia, including speeding, going through a red light, failure to adhere to line marking, driving in a bus or transit lane, littering, failing to purchase parking tickets, not parking in the direction of traffic and exceeding a parking time limit. If we receive an infringement incurred during your rental period, we will complete a statutory declaration to this effect, and the fine will be sent to you at the address you provided us. We charge a A$45 admin fee for this service to the card provided at the time of rental. Unfortunately, we cannot pay the infringement for you
